It’s hard to believe that we are now into what could be known as one of the best months of the year…my birthday month! I know I say it each new month, but where exactly has the time gone?! To think that we are now more than half way through 2023 is crazy to me, but what a fab few months of adventure it has been!

I do want to give each 2023 adventure a blog post of its own (it’s on my July to-to list), but here are four sneak peek words of what’s to come : London, Stockholm, ABBA Anniversary! Until then, here is to July and the new month ahead, to another year around the sun and to chasing adventures whatever they may be!

With International Women’s Day fast approaching and Mother’s Day just two weeks away, I wanted to have a special print ready for both occasions! It can sometimes be difficult knowing what to surprise the important women in our lives with, so this year I thought a sunset typography print would make the perfect gift and addition to any home!

Inspired by the beautiful words of Beau Taplin and the rolling sunset waves of Carnlough Beach, I have created two typography prints; one a limited edition print playing with lens flare to give that special touch of golden hour, and the other focusing on that sense of calmness.

Kicking off 2023 with another business goal of mine ticked off the list : 500 Etsy sales! I think it’s important as a small business owner to celebrate all wins no matter how big or how small they may seem! Although it took a little longer than ticking it off my 2021-2022 list, it makes me so happy to know that even in these difficult financial times we find ourselves in with a cost of living crisis, people are still connecting with my photography. It really is true what they say, whenever you buy from a small business, an actual person does a little happy dance!

So, here is to chasing dreams and ticking off that next business goal!

I’m taking a different approach to Wanderlust Wednesday today and sharing some best selling prints that have made their new home in countries such as America, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Sweden to name a few. It’s what I look forward to most; seeing what print has caught the attention of the client, the story behind their print purchase and the country that is next to pin on my sales map. It makes it even more special when it is a print from home and seeing the love that people have for our beautiful coastline as well as the memories it holds. It’s a feeling that will never get old!

Hello Midsummer!

Happy Summer or should I say Glad Midsommar with today being the official Midsummer date!

It’s hard to believe that it’s that time of year again! Though the travel industry may be at an all time low with the horrible cancellation of Summer holidays and putting most of us off planning anything at all, I am excited to see what this Summer has in store! I am so ready to chase those Summer sunsets wherever they may be and to create a new series of work!

If you follow my Instagram account you might have seen an exciting new product launch last week; Lavender Line Photography Phone Wallpapers! We decorate our homes, our workspaces and even our planners with pretty pictures and words of inspiration, so it seemed only natural that we give our phones that same treatment too. After all, it’s the one thing we look at umpteen times a day whether we like to admit it or not!

For a while I found it difficult to want to change my phone screen wallpaper as I had put a special photograph in place back in July 2019 when I lost my Little Miss of almost 17 years. It wasn’t until a phone upgrade in February 2022 that I felt it ok to change to something new, and so ‘Coral Nights’ was used to bring a touch of that golden hour vitamin sea to my lock screen. It got me thinking about our phone screens and how we use certain photographs to get through certain times, a small comfort that is always at hand.

So I decided to create a wallpaper series to bring a mini escape to those day to day routines of ours!

As Free As The Ocean

Goodbye September, Hello October! A new month, a new season and a new photography series. When I first started planning Dreamscape I knew that I wanted to create something special with the ocean and sunset in mind. I also wanted to experiment with ICM and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to get myself out there and play around with my camera in my favourite beach settings. It has been such a difficult year and a half for all of us that I felt it important to give something with a sense of escape. As each country has gone into lockdown and people have been denied those all-important trips home, I noticed that more and more of my clients were purchasing prints to give them that much needed escape and fix of home. It was this that brought Dreamscape to life along with José Chaves’ famous quote :

‘For her the ocean was more than a dream, it was a place she needed to visit to find herself’

I wanted Dreamscape to have something for everyone; from golden hour to blue hour, sunrise to sunset, dreaminess to daze and a moment of moody black and white.
